On Instagram I have been seeing pictures of Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers filming upcoming scenes for Supergirl. Well, during a press conference, she does something Oliver Queen did...REVEALS HERSELF TO THE WORLD AS SUPERGIRL!

This shot from YVR Shoots just about confirms it.

But...what's wrong with this picture? As much as it brings back the shirt rip, it seems to be a mess with continuity as for Kara to change, she just removes her glasses. This could be some kind of dream sequence.

And meanwhile...there is a shot of Melissa, with a winter coat on doing the shirt rip...and with a cute smile. Maybe the cutest shirt rip ever.

UPDATE (12/3) Canadagraphs has put up more pictures and a summary of what is going on...POSSIBLE SPOILERS AS TO WHO WILL BE APPEARING AS GUESTS.

But it can be confirmed this is for the 100th episode which is titled "It's a Super Life," clearly a sort of Supergirl version of the classic film "It's a Wonderful Life."

Also, there's another pic of Melissa doing the rip in practice...again showing her cute smile.

I'm thinking "Its A Wonderful Life" dream sequence type of thing, maybe even those funky eyeball things.....and Kara realizes she was right in not coming out as Supergirl to everyone. Just avthought...

2) These may be from the 100th episode. They could be doing something similar to Arrow's 100th which was part of the Invasion crossover. Sort of an "It's a Wonderful Life" type of thing. Maybe Kara uses the VR contacts to project what would happen if she reveled herself as Supergirl.

I hope it's better executed than the Arrow episode. In SG's favor, it isn't trying to celebrate the show's history and be part of a larger crossover event.

1) Lena with the VR contacts again like how she punched Kara in Event Horizon.

Side note I wonder if Melissa's growing out the bangs. They seem pretty long here and she can get a trim from the show's hairstylist anytime. They were just as long during her recent appearance on the late late show which would've filmed shortly before Thanksgiving so it tracks that these are very recent pictures. We'll probably have an indication when we see the first episode filmed in January because unless she gets a trim, in another month those bangs will be so long they have to be pushed to the side.

I, for one, hope this is a red herring.

That being said, Lena could descend further into the depths of her burgeoning villainy, and try to blackmail Kara regarding her identity. Kara revealing herself to the world would take that leverage away from Lena.

All speculation, at this point.

Hmmm... I see she's wearing a Hawaiian shirt there, too. Wow -a Hawaiian shirt rip.
Wonder if the writers got that idea from my fan fiction stories :D

Now just give her an electric guitar and let her play surf music with the Aquanauts (inside joke intended for my readers)!
