Great cause mental health is just as important as physical health. I've never been diagnosed with a mental health condition but I've needed help through some rough patches in my life. #IDontMind talking about the fact that I went to therapy when I needed help.

I have a dear friend who lives with mental health issues and one of the toughest things is lack of funding in the United States. It seems the system is set up to help people only once they are in crisis not help prevent the crisis from happening.

I love that the campaign is opening the conversation for mental health. Mental illnesses are so greatly overlooked in society and to see Chris working to end the stigma of MI is wonderful. Hopefully the campaign grows over time and reaches more and more people.

Maybe as time goes on it'll expand. NAMI is a well-known organization so I have no doubt this campaign can pick up traction along the way.

Noticing my criticism of zealous Chris Wood fans getting support from SC fans. The opposite happens a lot too. Thanks if you agree but just know it applies to all camps. Waiting for the day the fandom normalizes

I haven't seen nearly as much direct hate and gross insults against Katie or let's say Mehcad. Of course in Katie's case she doesn't have a social media platform, so it's a lot harder for her to get direct personal hate in her own backyard.

I don't think that people hating on characters or even fans hating on other fans is really the same as people directly attacking actors. I definitely haven't seen anything comparable to the active campaigning to get him fired with any of the other actors. I sure don't remember any story of other fans attending cons with the explicit intent to to go after an actor and try to talk the writers into firing them.

Just because all sides have some bad apples doesn't mean that all sides have the same amount or that it is done to the same extent. Certain groups have more bad apples simply based alone on the fact that they are larger, so of course they come off as a lot more frightening and radicalized.

Even if you think that a certain character sucks or played out and should be written off, there are certainly more and less extreme ways to go about expressing it.

This is not a question of lesbian shipping or even non-canon lesbian shipping. It's like the fans of let's say Kara and Lucy had a reputation of acting this way. This is just a really unhealthy group dynamic of a specific sub fangroup that encourages each other. Where some people have apparently decided that it is okay to pile on certain people because they are the enemy that stands in their way or they have decided that that every bad behavior against them is fair.

I don't think that day will ever come. But it was nice to see a lot of the fandom come together in support of #IDONTMIND

Saying we love you matters he even spoke about bullying so him hearing and seeing the love was very important actually. Hearing you are loved is always important to anyone

Yes, those expressing their 'love' for him was lovely to see, especially for him to see. But when comments started asking about Kai, Mon-El, Melwood and Karamel it shows that those viewers in particular weren't interested in what he was promoting, rather they were interested in his characters and relationship.

His campaign with NAMI is such a wonderful positive stand for him to take. And to see some of the comments in that livestream veer off into 'fan things' is disappointing (but not unsurprising).

At 21 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (once called Asperger's Syndrome) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, so on the G.A.D end, Melissa, I'm with you on this one.

I know of some people who have relatives with autism. So if Melwood wishes to talk about mental health issues, #idontmind doing so myself.

What a great thing for Melissa and Chris to do. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.
I had heard before about Melissa suffering from anxiety. Her being such a private person it takes a lot of bravery to come out and talk about such things publicly.

So many people suffer in silence or do not have the support system that they need. It is time that awareness come to the forefront and having young people such as Melissa and Chris speak out publicly is truly important and inspiring. Let's continue to spread the word!!

I never minded Chris, despite how his character was for parts of last year. But I really love him and Melissa, both, for doing this. My employer works closely with NAMI every year, and it's such an extremely important cause. This is really awesome.

My heart breaks for Mel. She's so brave to speak about it. I think it will help a lot of people to hear "Supergirl" talk about this.

I think it would be cool if the supergirl.tv front page could do an entry on this.
