Supergirl S3 E17 'Trinity' Episode Discussion and Review

I wish Saturn Girl had a brighter costume like Mon-El's (Photo # 14).

Bah ha ha ha Kiwi, I thought the exact same thing. It seems odd to me that they would be on the same "team," but Saturn Girl having a much more muted color scheme. Makes Mon-El oddly stick-out. As an art teacher it would be like sticking a Picasso painting in with an Andrew Wyeth. lol

And also, Kiwi..."evrafter, you can make this the Episode 17 discussion thread if you like." when I first made this thread, there was only the one picture that had come out--Lena, Supergirl, and Alex coming down the DEO staircase. So, I originally made this a "Spoiler Warning" thread. Then altered it once I saw Eric upload all the new pics for "Trinity." (Thanks, Eric, for adding a link to those.)

So, how WILL Kara be revealed? bah ha ha ha ha Supergirl, Alex, Winn, J'onn, and James all standing there...suddenly Supergirl puts ON her glasses and yells, "SSUUURRPPPRRIISSEE???" lol

Im interested on what Kara's first move will be now that she knows Sam is Reign. She said to Imra she would more more on board on dealing with things her way after what happened to Pestilence...but that was before the SAM reveal. Im guessing SAM will continue to be buried in the back of her own mind until Shelter from the Storm perhaps.

After all, the eclipse only blocks the light from our little human eyes, but doesn't block out the rays...Hence why we were told not to look at the sun even during the fill eclipse this year. Being in Utah, we were pretty close to full eclipse. It did drop 10° for a few minutes, but that wouldn't actually weaken Supergirl. The sun's light is only obscured due to the optical illusion that objects further away (i.e. the sun) appear smaller than objects (i.e. the moon) that are closer. But, again... the "energy" or rather the UV rays are still there.

If, in fact, Kara IS weakened by a simple eclipse, then... Bbboooooo, weak writing. I suspect if it is said eclipse, it will be caused by Pestilence....one of her "Old Testament type stuff. "

Right it’s solar radiation not the visible light spectrum that gives Kryptonians thier powers. Kara even said in The Faithful that her biology processes solar radiation differently than humans. The Worldkillers might incorrectly think that blocking the sun will depower Supergirl. An unannounced eclipse would create mass panic which the Worldkillers could use to thier advantage.

I hope none of that goes on, I see from the trailer she passes out so hopefully for not too long. Supergirl sans powers has already been done once this season (E11) and that's enough.

It appeared to me, Kiwi, that she passes out and and wakes up in Reign's Sanctuary...at least, mentally brought there? But, that might just be commercial editing. If the WK's actually do physically snatch Kara and take her to Sanctuary, that's probably where we get the images of Imra, Mon-El, and Alex in her new threads also in Sanctuary. I initially thought Alex didn't get suited up till, what looks to me, to be Kara and Alex hiding Ruby in the future. But, maybe the Legion DOES give Alex new clothes with "special" properties, so she can go with them to help retrieve Kara. Which, personally, I would love... being they left Alex back on their Earth and only had Mon-El and J'onn take Kara to see Team Flash...which seemed dumb

Ummm...something just occurred to me. If that is, indeed, Lena Supergirl faints in front of, note Lena doesn't say, "KARA??" but rather "Supergirl???" as she passes out. The dern woman STILL hasn't put it all together. BAH AHA HA HA HA HA HA HA

I know I copy/pasted some of the so-called "leaks" for Fedguy last week. But, I didn't actually read through them. I like to actually be surprised. lol Social media makes that difficult.

I've noted on recent pictures of Alex in her new suit silver circles in the palms of her gloves. I wonder if they have any special power to them--laser beams, special magnets, blinding light, strength increasers, force fields as shields? Pretty sure, Alex has now acquired Batgirlish abilities.

Well I would hope Alex’s new suit gives her some protection/weapon. Alex is a formidable fighter but even the best technique isn’t going to make her human body a match against the Worldkillers. She needs some 31st century tech to prevent her from being squashed like a bug under a Worldkillers boot.

It’s a delicate balance between giving Alex superhuman abilities and preserving the fact that she’s a hero without super-powers. There’s also the budget to consider.

Oooohhhhhhhhh... Mmmmyyy.... goooossshhh!! Best episode since Falling!!!! For me, it had everything--tender moments, action, Supergirl Supergirl Supergirl, Chyler and Katie and Mel all together, and HUMOR!! Melissa's robotic "yes" to Jesse? Golden!

And just as you think Lena is squeaky clean..... WE GOT OUR GREY!! WOOOWHOOOO

P. S... And finally I got something right, after three years... The discs in Alex's gloves... Magnetic. Here's hoping she can also switch the polarization to act like a force field or use somewhat like Ironman to give her lift.

P.S.S... Yeah, how did Imra and Mon-El not realize Reign simply absorbed Pestilence? Perhaps they, unlike the viewer, didn't see the gold and silver suck into Reign. NOW we see how Blight was created. So, just like in the Flash... the legion coming back never changed things, it always was. Boom. Time travel sucketh.
