So...did anyone else feel like Superman & Lois 1 season was really following the same framework as Supergirl Season 1, just with a bigger budget and better cinematography?
I present my case:
1) The antagonist is a family member leading a group of rogue Kryptonians to take over Earth.
2) In episode 1, we meet a mysterious character who is presumed to be an antagonist (Henshaw / Captain Luthor), but turns out to be a hero (Martian Manhunter / Steel).
3) Roughly 3/4 through the season, something happens to our hero to make them briefly turn against the public.
Makes me chuckle, especially those who insist Superman & Lois is so far above Supergirl, when Superman & Lois wouldn't have happened without Supergirl. Still peeves me that Superman & Lois has yet to acknowledge Supergirl's existence.

I can see your points. Also agree about acknowledging Supergirl.Retconning Lucy was the icing on top.You don't need Supergirl to actually appear onscreen to acknowledge the parent series.

I certainly want Supergirl to appear on S and L (and I believe she will, Melissa probably would've appeared on S and L Season 1 if not for Covid protocols) which would mean far more than just a random mention of her. I haven't felt slighted as a Supergirl fan (who's also a Superman fan) that Kara hasn't been mentioned yet, as I say for me it's a case of show rather than tell.
Well, given that Melissa has a starring role in a new show coming out in the near future, I doubt if she's going backward with her career and will not appear on S&L. Her career is moving forward and I'm on board. If you wish I can save you a seat on the Melissa Train.

I don't actually consider S and L to be spin off from Supergirl (which is why I haven't been bothered with no mention of Kara yet).S&L is the literal definition of a spin-off. As defined by Merriam-Webster spin-off is.
”something that is imitative or derivative of an earlier work, product, or establishment
especially : a television show starring a character popular in a secondary role of an earlier show.”
Clark as played by Tyler appeared on Supergirl before S&L became a show therefore S&L is a spin-off of Supergirl in the same way Flash is a spin-off of Arrow.
I wish S&L fans would quit making excuses for that show not acknowledging it’s part of a greater universe. I heard when Jordan got Kryptonite poisoning Clark burned it out of him. Hello, anit-kryptonite tech exists on Earth-Prime. The showrunners and writers would rather show Clark putting his son through pain than acknowledge tech that Kara uses.
