Sasha Calle cast as Supergirl

I would have a problem with a new Supergirl set in Arrowverse and I would have prefered a season 7 with Melissa. However, this new proposed series, if it happens, is reportedly based on a different Supergirl, not Kara Zor-el, different origin story and is said to be a prequel to her appearance in the upcoming DCEU Flash movie. This is very similar strategy the Peacemaker series. It was reported by other sources, not just WGTC.

Melissa is the defining Supergirl on TV and I don't see that changing, but I think the new show is a great tie-in to Ezra's movie, as she likely won't get much screen time in the movie.

Just to be clear I do think it’s waaay too soon for WB to start another Supergirl series. My post was meant to talk about how WeGotThisCovered is not a reliable source.

DCEU Flash is big screen movie. The proposed new rumoured Supergirl will be an Hbomax series... not the same, so not a good comparison.

Yes, I read that... except on the "we got this covered" site. It gives more weight to the decision to end the CW Supergirl at season 6 instead of 7, as cast were apparently under contract thru S7. Especially considering they renewed lesser rated series.They would not want two Supergirl series and would want a little break inbetween. Plus, timing for Melissa may have made it more opportune.

I have no problem with a new HBO Max series, as it will be quite different. I don't see it the same as I did with replacing Kate Kane on Batwoman, as unlike Batwoman this is a different part of the DC multiverse they are exploring. Melissa put her signature stamp on the character for Arrowverse.

I think it's interesting that she (Sasha's version) "may" be the future daughter of Clark Kent as opposed to his cousin Kara.

We got this covered is a notoriously garbage site. It predicted Supergirl would end with season four then five. Personally I don’t look at that site or believe anything they say. I think there were multiple reasons the show didn’t get a seventh season. I can’t dismiss a DCEU Supergirl as part of the reason because any logical reason shouldn’t be dismissed not because of what a click bait site says. WB doesn’t have a problem with two versions of Flash at the same time and I’d be very disappointed they applied a different standard to Supergirl.

I have really mixed emotions about this right this second.On one hand,I'm really looking forward to Supergirl's debut in the DCEU and will certainly watch a series if this pans out.On the other hand,it does sting a little to read about this before the current Supergirl series even finishes.I'm still in this mourning phase about the end of this version of the character with Melissa and the currant show to get excited by a new Supergirl series with the next version.I guess hearing this now is poor timing for me.

As a person pointed out in the comments section of the article,her hair may just be tied up and pulled to the side.

Either way,it is exciting that the new big screen Supergirl is filming now or is about to(The Flash has been filming for a month now but she may of not started yet).

Of coruse, we don't know which or how many hair colors Supergirl will be given in the film. Some of you will recall the comic series where she was blonde and brunette depending on whether or not she was wearing her glasses.

I was wondering if she would be a blonde or brunette as Supergirl. Also, if she would be Kara Danvers, Linda Danvers or Linda Lee. Unlike the tv show, Supergirl's alter ego was often Brunette, while the maid of might was blonde.
