" Yes Girl you can Fly!!
Welcome to the DC Universe Sasha Calle
Cannot wait to see you as SG
The world needs as many #Supergirl as it can get "
The melody, originally titled "Cotton's Dream," was composed, and lyrics were written for it, by De Vorzon and Botkin Jr. as incidental music for the 1971 theatrical film Bless the Beasts and Children. Two years later, Botkin Jr. composed a rearranged version of the music for The Young and the Restless; the show debuted on March 26, 1973. The melody was later renamed "Nadia's Theme" after ABC Wide World Of Sports lent the music for a montage of Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci's routines during the 1976 Summer Olympics;
Nadia never performed her floor exercises using this piece of music. Instead, she used a piano arrangement of a medley of the songs "Yes Sir, That's My Baby" and "Jump in the Line."
I wonder what Melissa thinks of this?
This is just a theory...but with the multiversal path this film seems to be on, I'm thinking Sasha might be playing an alternate universe Supergirl, as opposed to the mainstream cousin to Henry Cavill.
I only say this because telling the story of her intro, backstory, and relation to Kal seems like a lot to fit in this film.
My theory is that, in an alternate universe, she fell to Earth instead of Kal, went on a similar journey, and became her universe's primary "Super", who comes across Barry in whatever universe hopping shenanigans he's going on.
Melissa welcomes her big screen counterpart.

Calle later responded to that message saying, "Melissa! This means so much. My little brother and I have watched every episode. This was such a sweet moment for us. Thank you."
This is a super cool moment, and one which serves as an awesome passing of the torch. While it would be a shame for Benoist not to continue playing Kara Danvers in some form, it feels like the character is in good hands with Calle, especially as she was chosen from over 400 different actresses.
